Water Storage for Homes and buildings

I can't completely bash the municipalities and their respective water management structures, as there are suburbs with in our country where authorities are installing new municipal water mains and continually upgrading additional branches to the system for me development. But, the problem, similar to that of Eskom and load shedding is poor, pathetic and dismal maintance and management from state municipalities struggling to keep up with pipework maintance, continual leaks, old infrastructure such old Steel and Asbestos pipework, aiged pump systems and pump stations.

It is said, atleast estimated as an unknown and unmeasurable veriable that up to 120 million Litres are lost in leakage and illegal connections yearly from JHB Water and the pipe network of Johannesburg.

There are suberbs in the Johannesburg and Pretoria areas that have water cuts that seem to be lasting more than 24 hours,in same cases up to a week where taps run dry, homes not only left in the dark, but also in the dessert.

Seldom, if hardly ever had this been due to water shortage or water supply insufficiency ( other than the Cape Town droughts of 2017/ 2018 ).

What we have noticed as that there has been an increase in reports and statistics of suburbs running dry due to municipal issues and again, aiged neglected water pipe infrastructure.

My suggestion to you as communities, of all classes, and wealth categories is to begin looking at water storage systems, rain harvesting collection, ground water collection and some sort of water storage back up to homes and commercial spaces like malls and gyms. Water cuts are upon us into the next 10 years and I see the situation only worsening as municipalities try find balance on the knifes edge with servicing, maintaing and installing new infrastructure into disadvantaged and forgotten communities. Something's got to give, and in my opinion they not coming to our suburban areas of Bryanston, Houghton and Fourways to upgrade the old pipe veins or rescue the system.

If we're so effected by load shedding and how to curb it's effects on homes and work with inovative ideas like Solar PV, Batteries, Gasification to homes etc, then there certainly too,are options and solutions to reliable, healthy and gaurantee water storage, for all kinds, and all prices across the market.

My advice is to get a specialist involved, and not your local plumber from builders warehouse corner shop, they will have to study your needs and not over size things like tanks and pumps as well as not undersize. These numbers are simple and if logically explained in layman's terms then a simple specification can be engineered and possibly installed to your work or home building.

Many of the homes and buildings I have had the privilege of installing water storage systems do not even know there is no municipal water as the systems that we are able to offer can back your home up permanently.

Look into water storage before your taps run dry.
